February / March: Filming for HBO's Boardwalk Empire Frank makes an appearance in a minor featured role on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. Directed by Martin Scorsese.

February 13: University of Central Florida, Burnett Honors College Frank reads from his Full Count: The Book of Mets Poetry and discusses the subject of baseball and literature as part of the Honors History program in Baseball and American Culture. March 9: Toad's Place, New Haven, CT, Frank reads "Directions to the Soul of America" and introduces Doors tribute band, Riders on the Storm. 

March 21: Helen Hayes Theatre, New York, NY, Frank makes his Broadway debut in a special-guest appearance in the Broadway musical, ROCK OF AGES. One night only!

March 28: Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City, The annual reading of key selections from the Inferno by Dante Alighieri. This dramatic literary event will take place in the Cathedral, with selected Cantos read by honored guests, distinguished poets, eminent translators and visiting scholars including Michael Palma, Charles Martin, Frank Messina, Paolo Valesio, John Simko, Mary Jo Bang, and others. Hosted by The Very Reverend Dr. James A. Kowalski, Cathedral Dean, and Cathedral Poet-in-Residence Marilyn Nelson. St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Ave @ 112th St. New York. 9pm-midnight.
