Thurs, March 29, The Annual Reading of Dante's Inferno at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City The annual reading of key selections from the Inferno by Dante Alighieri. This dramatic literary event will take place in the Cathedral, with selected Cantos read by honored guests, distinguished poets, eminent translators and visiting scholars including Michael Palma, Charles Martin, Frank Messina, Marilyn Nelson and others. Hosted by The Very Reverend Dr. James A. Kowalski, Cathedral Dean, and Cathedral Poet-in-Residence Marilyn Nelson. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Ave @ 112th St. New York. 9pm-midnight. Followed by Pipe Organ meditation at midnight. Free and open to the public.

Three Ring Bender at Threes Brewing pays tribute to John Perry Barlow with a night of words, music, and thought rendered by a stellar cast of musicians and voices, many with ties to Bob Weir's Campfire Band and Blue Mountain recording. Singer Tyrone Cotton, percussionist Conrad Doucette (Takka Takka, Bob Weir), saxophonist Erik Lawrence (Levon Helm Band, Bob Weir), drummer/guitarist Johnny Markowski (New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Stir Fried), poet/actor Frank Messina (Boardwalk Empire), bassist Annie Nero (A Nero, Yellowbirds, Bob Weir), drummer/singer Ray Rizzo (Josh Ritter, Bob Weir), keyboardist/singer Stephanie Sanders, and other special guests tba.
