Thursday, April 2: The Annual 'Inferno' Reading at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City The annual reading of key selections from the Inferno by Dante Alighieri. This dramatic literary event will take place in the Cathedral, with selected Cantos read by honored guests, distinguished poets, eminent translators and visiting scholars including Michael Palma, Charles Martin, Frank Messina, Annie Finch, John Simko, Cynthia Zarin, Anthony Viscusi and others. The Kerouac Project's 3rd Annual Benefit Concert

with DAVID AMRAM, LEE RANALDO, JOYCE JOHNSON, TYRONE COTTON, JOHN VENTIMIGLIA, BOB HOLMAN, FRANK MESSINA

Legendary composer and early Jack Kerouac collaborator David Amram and his quintet (Kevin Twigg, drums; Rene Hart, bass; Eliot Peper, percussion; Robbie Winterhawk, congas) perform music of Kerouac's era and accompany actor John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos), rock legend Lee Ranaldo, poets Frank Messina and Bob Holman as they read the works of Kerouac. Special guest speakers include author and biographer Joyce Johnson, Kerouac Project co-founder Summer Rodman.

Proceeds will support The Jack Kerouac Writer-in-Residence Project of Orlando, Florida, home to nearly fifty writers since the Fall of 2000. Each competes with a worldwide pool of applicants to live and create, rent-free, for three months at a time.
